Transit Systems

The Transit Division, which serves all transits throughout the U.S. and Canada, specializes in third rail and transit trackwork products. We offer a complete system for your transit needs, including specialized products, product expertise and project management. Products include third rail, third rail insulators, end approaches, coverboard, guarded and unguarded turnouts, turnouts on concrete and restraining rail systems.

Coverboard

High strength, lightweight protective cover that protects both worker and rider. Available in multiple designs. Provides high dielectric strength and meets lowest smoke and flame specifications in the industry.

Insulator

Porcelain or fiberglass insulators available in various heights and designs based on project specifications.

Bi-Metallic Contact Rail

Bi-metallic rail is a durable conductor rail suitable for high current, low resistance applications.

End approach* – Various third rail system ramps or incline designs.

Anchors* – Strain rods bolted to crosstie to combat thermal expansion.

Bracket

Extremely strong designs while providing high resistance, low smoke and toxicity ratings.  Various designs, including fixed and adjustable designs, suited for your needs.

Additional Transit Products

Trackwork Products

Fasteners

Available for ballast and direct fixation applications.

Expansion Joints

Universal, all-rail weldable slide joints for bridge, crossing approach, curved track and elevated track.

Bridge Joints

New generation of improved bridge designs for bascule, fixed, swing span or vertical lift.

Restraining Rail Assemblies

Guarded track for tight radius curves.

Coatings

Innovative ATTrackShield nano-coating for porcelain insulators to add valuable years of service and lower maintenance costs.

Curved Rail

Engineered, pre-curved rails for ease of installation.

Transition and Compromise Rails

Alternative to mechanical joints and typically found in CWR installations. Any section, length or wear available to ensure a smooth transition between foreign sections.

Bonded Insulated Joints

Insulated joints for track circuits preventing current from flowing between the ends of two adjoining rails. Both composite and steel bar styles available as well as individual kits or plug rails.

Turnouts (wood, steel or concrete)

Turnouts and crossovers including switches, frogs, guard rails, stock rails, and closure rails; rail fastening assemblies unique to turnouts; and miscellaneous components associated with turnouts including switch rods and gauge plates. Crossover tracks, double crossovers including the central crossing frogs or diamond area, and single and double slip switches are included in this category.
